enrollment/re-enrollment
Re-enroll Current Student
Each year, with the exception of graduating seniors, current students must be re-enrolled to secure their seats for the next school year. When a current family does not re-enroll their student by the deadline, it indicates that that student is not returning in the fall and their seat is offered to an incoming student in the February lottery.
Release it January 27th and it will close February 20th.
Parents/guardians receive an email that guides them to their student re-enrollment page.
The enrollment office recommends reregistering in a timely way, well before the deadline.
For re-enrollment of current students, the Intent to Return Forms were sent out from PowerSchool Enroll and due by February 20, 2025 to secure your seat for the 25-26 school year. Please contact our enrollment office if you need support with completing the intent to return form.
Enrollment 2025-2026
If you are considering enrolling a new sibling at d.tech, please let us know! In the meantime, here’s an overview of the process:
Families of prospective new siblings must complete the same enrollment steps as non-siblings i.e. submit a lottery registration form, and complete address verification with the San Mateo or Sequoia Union High School Districts before being guaranteed an offer to enroll in the March lottery. Siblings of alums may also apply, but the number of alum siblings that may enter in any given year is restricted to ten students.
Registration Information is on the Enroll tab of the website. Address verification with your local district (for prospective 9th grade siblings) can begin in November prior to January of the year of entry.
The registration form becomes available in November 12th, 2024 and closes February 7th, 2025.
In accordance with Education Code section 47605(d), the following lottery priorities shall be included within the DESIGN TECH charter:
Lottery priority in the case of a public random drawing shall be given to the following students in the following order:
PRIORITY 1 – Children of Design Tech employees.
PRIORITY 2 – Children of Design Tech founding team members as identified in the initial charter.
PRIORITY 3 – Siblings of students that currently attend Design Tech, and siblings of pupils who graduated from Design Tech, not to exceed ten such pupils.
PRIORITY 4 – Children who reside within Sequoia Unified High School District or San Mateo Unified High School District boundaries. The drawing for this category of applicants shall be a separate drawing such that only applicants residing within the boundaries of the two school districts will be included. Children that qualify for FRL programs within those school districts will receive a preference of 2:1. A copy of the guidelines for eligibility for the federal National School Lunch Program (“FRL”) shall be attached to the registration for admission to DESIGN TECH. Applicants shall be asked to verify whether their household is eligible for the FRL Program by checking a box marked “Yes” or “No.” No other information will be requested. However, the registration will state that DESIGN TECH reserves the right to confirm eligibility in the event that the student accepts an offer of enrollment.
PRIORITY 5 – All other children, provided they are California residents. Students that reside outside of Sequoia Unified High School District or San Mateo Unified High School District boundaries will be placed on a separate lottery list.
If you have any questions, please email Marbella Alfonzo, Student Engagement Specialist at enroll@dtechhs.org
Campus Visits
Student Shadows for students who have applied occur on February 3rd-14th.
Registration, Enrollment, & Policies
Parents/guardians submit the online lottery registration from November 12, 2024 to February 7, 2025. It will be on the Enroll tab.
Be certain you receive an emailed submission confirmation. Registrations can not be added to the lottery past the deadline.
If you are a resident of the San Mateo or Sequoia Union High School Districts, complete address verification at their offices immediately after you apply for the lottery with us. The district office gets extremely busy as it is also their enrollment time so there are often delays in processing the verifications. It is strongly recommended you do this step as soon as you complete the lottery application with us.

All siblings registered for lottery are emailed offers sometime during the evening of the lottery. Follow instructions in the offer email to accept/decline. You must accept the offer we send. If the offer is not accepted by the deadline the spot will be given to the next person on the waitlist.
A Word of Caution
Enrollment steps not completed by registration deadline will result in the loss of the seat to a waitlisted student.
Once declined, an offer can not be reinstated.
Students may not enroll in d.tech and another school to prolong the decision window without forfeiting their d.tech spot.
By law, a student CANNOT be enrolled in two schools at the same time. If you accept the offer from Dtech, you must notify your home school that your child will be attending Dtech to ensure they are not enrolled in two schools. If you accept our offer and then decide to go to a different school, you MUST inform Dtech so we can withdraw your child BEFORE you enroll in the other school.
