d.tech requests that parents volunteer 30 hours per year, and deeply values the positive and constructive input that these volunteer hours provide for the students. Parents have contributed time helping with traffic supervision and handing out lunches, being mentors for student Presentations of Learning (POLs), to offering enthusiasm and expertise in web design, robotics, publishing and the all-important Gala and 'The d.tech Koi Pond' Annual Fund. A significant need is for parents to help transport students to afternoon intersession electives four times a year to locations between San Francisco and Palo Alto.
Volunteer opportunities are listed in the weekly school newsletter, the d.tech Download, where they access the sign-up forms for specific projects. Some volunteer positions require Live Scan and TB testing. It is worthwhile getting these done well ahead of time. Click here for information on when they are required.
Questions about volunteering can be directed to Julie Abraham, Enrollment and Communications Coordinator.
