Lottery Registration

Follow these simple steps to register for the enrollment lottery for the 2019-2020 school year.

Step 1 ➝

Verify Address.

Nov. 1, 2018 – Feb. 15, 2019

Students must be a current California residents to enroll in the lottery. Students who live within the San Mateo Union High School District must complete address verification and at their local district office to secure a lottery priority. Priority is not a guarantee. Residents outside of these districts must prove current CA residency upon enrollment.

The SM & Sequoia School Districts confirm with is the address verification has been completed.

Step 2 ➝

Register Online.

Jan. 8, 2019 – Feb. 28, 2019

The lottery registration will be posted here. Be sure to answer all questions accurately and have the materials ready to enroll. will email you a reminder of the details of the lottery and waitlist process on March 5.

Step 3 ➝

Confirm Receipt.

Wait for Lottery:

March 7, 2019

When registering, make sure you click ‘SUBMIT’ to complete the registration process, and that you receive a confirmation email, or your registration may not be entered.

Deadline: midnight on February 28. No registrations are accepted after that time.

The lottery takes place on the campus, March 7 2019, at 5:30 pm.

Most families wait for the results to be emailed to them in the privacy of their homes. The lottery is held in public and families can attend.
